Fizzy, I was lucky to watch the space shuttle take off from the Cape back in the 90’sI stayed up to watch this. Last time I was around 8 or 9 in junior school and we were all crowded around a black and white tv on tall legs. I was hoping the picture quality would be better this time around. At least it was in colour. NASA footage switched to the crowd as the boosters separated and we all missed it
No live video feeds coming back either. I hoped for better given modern technology.
I wondered if it was intentional- in case something was to go wrong.NASA footage switched to the crowd as the boosters separated and we all missed it

I was disappointed with the camera feeds as well, showing the feed of the engines until smoke obscured the camera then switching to a longer shot when the rocket was clearing the tower so missing the actual lift offI stayed up to watch this. Yeh slightly different thing in this case, thought as an American you’d know about it, even your absolute Nutter President seems to have heard about it, it might even distract him from his crazy decisions for a small period of time.
I heard it on the radio first, so the spelling difference didn't come out.Yeh slightly different thing in this case, thought as an American you’d know about it, even your absolute Nutter President seems to have heard about it, it might even distract him from his crazy decisions for a small period of time.
I opologise FredI heard it on the radio first, so the spelling difference didn't come out.
FWIW "Wild, Wild West" has been running on the T.V. the last year or so.
Let's not get this thread locked for politics eh ?
Yes what a wasted opportunity. The cgi looked awful. I coukd knock up something much better with nano banana. Footage from some of the space shuttle launches was much better.I watched blast off this morning, hoping for great footage with modern day super magnification cameras like google earth has, but alas I wasn't surprised
to see the rocket get smaller & smaller until almost out of sight, then cut to the last 20mins of transmission with cartoon cgi animation with voice over commentary.
Not a memorable day for me.
