Armitage Shanks siphonic toilet system

I have one of the dreaded Armitage Shanks siphonic toilet systems in my upstairs bathroom. As of a few days ago, it suddenly lost 90% of its flushing force.
I’m sure that some will say replace the whole thing rather than repair, but that’s not an option. The downstairs loo is working perfectly.

I think that I already have a new (old stock) air-extractor unit and a new dome seal, but I seem to recall seeing comments that getting these to work well is a black art. Any advice on how to do it would be appreciated.

Last time I saw them were in my grandads house late 70s, as a youngster I was amazed by them!
I know even then they could be temperamental but they are a much cleaner/efficient way of flushing!

there easy

mess with them at your own cost issues come from a few things lowering its water level / content bags in the tank for less water usage
fitting a smaller tank on the base water content
both references above is amount of water in the tank it needs a specific amount of water to create a good flush syphon to work properly

remove that aspirator you loose flushing power/ failing aspirator causes issue with the flushing but in some cases will flush



you need one of these syphonic aspirator remove it at your own cost as you loose flushing power

to get to that aspirator its a box off job so you need a tank pack

they was good with the use of that split flush part and renew the rubber flush plastic

but if you dont want to mess with them its time to look for a new toilet base and tank
