Argon/CO2 short term hire near Edinburgh???

Folks,

I've become tired of disposables and want to rent a small bottle of Argon/CO2 for approx 2 weeks to finish off a project (lots of welding on my Mini). Does anyone know where I can hire a bottle (ideally without an account) near Edinburgh. I've tried HSS (my local centre only has Argon), and also Bathgate Hire Centre (they have Ferromaxx but no Integra regulators and neither do I; and are waiting for delivery of Cougar5 but there's a delay with that).
So, any ideas where I can get my hands on a bottle before the weekend? I'm to the west of Edinburgh (South Queensferry), but willing to travel to West/Mid/East Lothian or into Fife.

P.S.
The reason for the urgency and relatively short term hire is I'm moving to the USA at the start of August and need to get my Mini back on the road within the next fortnight.

A couple of phone calls over lunch and it looks like HSS in Grangemouth may be my solution (at approx £40 all in for X sized bottle for a 2 week hire).

Sounds like a good price. You can do monthly rental at places like BOC, but you'd still be looking at a complete refill which would take you past £40.

The other option is to go for pure CO2 from a pub or fire extinguisher place. I'm not aware of independents that supply Argon mix up there.

I just got quotes £42.48 for the gas and £3 pw hire via their mail 0845 number.
There's also a branch in Dunfirmline that may be neared to you.

I called HSS Dunfermline and they told me their Grangemouth depot were the folks that did gas hire (in effect I pay HSS who then give me a line/note which I then take to BOC Grangemouth, who then give me the bottle/gas from there). I too got a quote of £36.51 for the gas and £3.30 for two week hire of the bottle. Significantly cheaper than disposables!

Was that going to the G'mouth branch directly?
was that ex vat by any chance?

Yes, that was going to Grangemouth directly, and I'm assuming those prices were ex-VAT (does anyone quote VAT inclusive these days?!!)

If I need different devices or tools which I do not own I actually always use the internet in order to hire the tools. I am of the opinion that this is very convenient. I even once hired a limousine and you can also hire many other things on this specific page. I am of the opinion you will also find a bottle of Argon/CO2.
