argon/co2 reading

on my first bottle of mig gas,does the pressure read linear or not?

gauge is falling fairly fast now....

also,should i discharge/release the gas between the regulator and torch when im not using the welder.i know it could be just wastage,but i dont know if the constant pressure is good for the system.no contactor,if thats relevant

If it's a mix the bottle pressure should drop as the gas is used up, if it's CO2 then it stays steady and drops like a bomb when the all the liquid has gone.

its a mix alright.used the last of it up just now.
it fell quicker from half way down the pressure gauge though.


also,even though the flow gauge was still showing the right amount,the noise of welding got a lot more fierce for the last 5 minutes or so.turning it up a few l/m didnt help much
