Hello all, I'm new to this forum and i've got a few questions about shielding gas. I have a sealey 150/5 supermig and have been using co2 pub gas on it for the last 5 years or so. I recently bought a cobel 3in1 off eBay. I've not used it yet but I'm hoping it will be ok. (anyone got one?)I've just been and rented an x30 size pure argon from airproducts so I can use the tig. My big question is, can I safely mix the two gasses using a tee connector and adjust both regs until I get a good mix? Can the argon bottle be contaminated or is the reg like a "one way" valve? I only weld for a hobby and I can't justify renting another bottle. I live on the isle of man, so it's not possible to use someone like Adams gas as the delivery is too expensive. Any advice greatfully accepted. Thank you in advance.

You would need real flowmeters, not regs with calibrated pressure gauges. A check vale on each would be best as regs differ in pressure and the lower one will vent the higher one.
