I was reading up on the radio linked type of smoke derectors/alarms. These are an alternative to hard wired alarms, and typically can come with a 10 year battery life.
I am guessing that they are throw away after 10 years when the battery fails, just like the Co2 detector I have. Anyone know for sure?
Also, apart from the cost replacement, I do wonder about the reliability of the radio linking components etc over the period of use.
Currently I am still in favour of hard wired.
