I believe that's exactly what it feels like - and if the bruising is anything to go by I believe itCalled a punch in the face where i come from!
The deed is done,9am this morning got pumped full of local anaesthetic by the surgeon......he took out 5 of them in 15 minutes telling me that i had massive roots on my teeth....and then the last one,he started to take it out and it snapped off
...so he levered and pulled and levered some more,got a hammer and chisel out and chiselled part of my jaw away as tooth root had grown curved and he pulled some more and finally the little ******* (his words) came out and he blood all up his shirt!
Joyus it was,felt like an hgv had parked on my head until the local wore off at 2pm,now its sore but not agony.
What a fun day!

Only £150 an hour?
My other half works with an Oral Surgeon who does referral work from the NHS paid for by the local NHS Trust. He gets about £100 for an extraction that takes an average of ten minutes.
He does however do a very good job and brings almost instant relief to his patents who all think he is a god!

Had a survey and estimate done t'other week. Quite a bit to get done.
mmmm not looking forward to it really - i'd rather paint gold on railings all day than go there.

Ugh teeth, I avoid the dentist until the pain gets unbearable, having said that ive got two fillings at 36, so thats not toooo bad...
I have had a tooth removed, I split one of my molars in two opening beer bottles by biting off the tops, and they had to take it out under GA because my jaw muscles were too strong to get my mouth open properly when concious. I came round and didnt know where i was for the rest of the day, but the next day I had a shower and seen this big boot shaped bruise on my chest. Guess it really WAS a bugger to get out
My mrs snapped a tooth on our honeymoon in prauge, and the posh hotel found a emergency dentist for us, who turned out to be swedish as it happens. He laid tiny wires into the root of the tooth and capped it in a semi temporary fashion using some sort of wax. She didn't feel a thing, he must have been a complete artisan. When we returned she went to the local butchers to get a permanent crown done, and they couldn't believe all these tiny fine anchor wires that had been laid in place ready "oh theyll come loose theyll all have to come out" "why has he used so many, you only need one" etc etc, she told them to feck off and just crown it and 7 years on, its still holding up just fine. She said they hurt her more putting the cap on than the other guy did drilling out the tooth and setting the foundation wires in...
It cost more to have them cap it than the original guy charged for all his work...
