At long last - the much awaited arc welding tutorial is online: http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/arc-tutorial.htm
There's still more to come (you'll have to await some more for the vertical up and a couple of other goodies) but there's plenty in there to get started with.
Thanks to everyone who has helped with the tutorial. Especially Snowcat whose experience and ability to teach form the basis of the tutorial. I've tried to credit others in the tutorial pages, but there are so many people from the forum who helped with photos and advice that I'll have missed some. And it wouldn't have happened at all without the many who bunged a few quid in the pot to fund the tutorial in the first place. A big thanks to everyone.
If you are new to arc welding give it a whirl and ask questions on the forum - that will help highlight anything we've missed.
Experienced arc welders please let me know if there are any inaccuracies. People might read the tutorial before they take a course, and we don't want to put any bad ideas into their heads.
PS - it should be a useful read for MIG and TIG welders too.
