Hi, just wanted some newbie help. I'm about to buy a welder and have watched a few videos but can't decide if i need a MIG(GAS?) or ARC or inverter.
What is the difference between regular ARC and an inverter? Also, if the welder has an input of 240v and 20a, will this work of my house mains? I always thought a regular house only produced 13a, will it trip the switch?
I f i were to get a generator, would 5kva be suitable for a 240v 200amp inverter?
I'm going to be undertaking a project to build a 3 wheeler, so obviously i will need structural strength and would rather over engineer than find out my welds are rubish while riding!
As for the project, what's recommended, round or square tubing? and how thick wall diameter to make sure it would be structually strong enough..3mm?
Any help would be great, cheers
