Hi folks, looking for a pointer - I've got a cheapish arc welder (180A Parkerbrand inverter Welder). I've done a number of small projects but last night it stopped welding.
I did blow a fuse during one attempt; changed to a smaller rod and it was welding much better. Then it stopped initiating, couldn't get it to spark. Any ideas?
I cleaned up the oxidation on the ground lead - it was a bit corroded, but even after this I can't get a weld to start at all.
Does anyone know what can fail in these units?
Or could the rods be a bit less than perfect?
