Ok, i am looking for a cheap starting place to be able to tig aluminium, stainless and mild. I have seen there are torch kits to convert a arc/mma welder to tig but not found any units within my price range until today. So i have a few questions if you dont mind....
1) what is an MMA welder?
2) would i be able to use one of the TIG conversion torches on this welder?

3) does anyone know roughly what thickness ally. and steel this welder would be capable of welding without throwing a wobbler and turning my £130 into a nice puff of smoke.
I am a very capable MIG welder with a little experience of Gas welding and braising. But no experience of TIG so i want to learn.
I am planning on making an exhaust system (1.5mm thickness stainless), exhaust manifold 3mm thickness mild steel (weld-els steem pipe)(with 10mm thick mounting flange) and intercooler pipes (1.5mm thick aluminium)
Would this be a reasonable starting point for a project like this or am i on the wrong path with a welder of this type?
Your opinions and expertise please guys.
