I recently had my car MOT'd and it failed on excessive corrosion in prescribed area in inner wings near front suspension mounts. I asked my Uncle about this, and he was all too keen to help. I knew mig welding was best on car bodywork, but he used an old miniwelder 90 2.2kva with 2.5mm electrodes. I admit to knowing very little about welding in general though. I'm not at all ungrateful (if it seems that way) - my main concern is with whether it will get through the MOT after the tester looks and prods while expecting me to hand over the half retest fee.
Also, is there any reason not to spray zinc alu spray, spread PU sealant across, and slap on underbody seal on the welded areas?
This is some of the work.
Thanks in advance.
