Hi folks. Recently purchased the above welder.
Having only ever welded bits and pieces using mig older Clarke transformer 110a toy. I was able to lay good beads on old steel wheels at around 80a thereabouts. Once I got to join to pieces of box section 90 degrees I push the rod I to the joint and burns but doesn stick to the bottom price of steel. When I try to go back and forth it burns through the box. Had to resort to filling it in with the mig. Looks unsightly.
Is there any particular movement I should be doing. Rods I should be using etc. Silly question I know. I'd love to do a proper course on MMA.
Welding using 2.5 mm rods I believe at 80a. Gys 160 a inverter. On 2.5mm box section.
Very frustrating when I can lay it flat but go to join two pieces and it's not straight forward.
Thanks for your help
