Along with all those videos of no helmet welding in Pakistan.....Colin Furze does it on his tunnel and bunker build.

I welded it with 6013's - as I managed to beg/borrow enough mat and rebar for the job - plus I did not have any tying wire
Nothing beats the safety squintAlong with all those videos of no helmet welding in Pakistan.....![]()
Bolts are not preset. Pour 400mm concrete, bolt uprights to concrete, pour another 700mm of concrete. Total amount of concrete is 1.1m3 per upright. (6 uprights in total)If the bolts in cones are preset in the concrete, you will need to get all the feet on in exactly the right orientation on each upright, or laying out will be a pain.
Id mig it too, as its quicker, but a stick would work just as well.

As much as I enjoy his antics, and he is getting results...Colin Furze does it on his tunnel and bunker build.
A lot of his antics are just for show. Scratch under the surface and you have a good engineer and fabricator who really knows his stuff. I am, sure a lot of planning and design went into this behind the scenes! As much as I enjoy his antics, and he is getting results...
I am not 100% I would use anyone who thinks "you know, maybe, just maybe I should consult an engineer about this project" only after he's under-mined one side of the house he lives in with his wife and kids as a reference on good practice.
But then, the back did fall of my parents house as a kid, maybe I'm just sensitive about such things and unfairly judging him.
