arc inverter to run 3.2mm rods

hi, i am thinking of buying an arc inverter , however i would want to use 3.2mm rods with it sometimes . usually i use 2.5mm.
will the parweld xti160 be ok for this ,
any other suggestions as to an inverter that would be more suitable will be greatly appreciated .

i have the xti160, it burns 3.2mm 6013 and 7018's all day long. Ive had it running at 130A on a 13A fuse no problem, higher than that it trips the circuit breaker.

hi, i run my existing buzzbox using a 13 amp fused plug, but the electricity supply to the garage from the fusebox is on a 30 amp circuit breaker, so i should be ok with using the parweld and 3.2mm rods . i am still new to the welding lark ,thats why i am enquiring . what would i need to change regarding my power supply in order to run the xti above 130 amps .

You are unlikely to need 130 for 3.2 mm and the answer is it depends on the wiring and supply quality

Don't think you can go wrong with the majority of mma inverters these days. I've worked alot with small invertor mma units. All time favourite is the fronius transpocket, I've currently got a miller si and I'll be honest, it's over priced and no better than the Chinese imports from the likes of jasic. The parweld seem to carry really good reviews, and good customer service.

I've a thermal arc 175the with the hf tig, great unit, been burning 3.2 7018 today and it breezes it.

just seen a parweld xts 162 inverter , is this the newer version of the xti160, or a different unit alltogether, of these two which one is best

Haven't had chance to try any yet, had a trailer to fix, or at least start to fix!

It's the new version of the XTI 160, I've just bought one for myself from work.

They've changed the interface, given it the ability to run a cel rod and changed the look of it. Brilliant new unit IMO

Not had chance to run a cel in it yet as I don't really have the need to but I think it actually runs better than the EWM Pico 162 I was going to go for before I tested the Parweld. TIG on it is brilliant too, very enjoyable and way to use.
