Had a bit of a practice with my MIG today and believe I experienced an arc flash from a reflection entering the back of my welding helmet. Noticed a bright light in the corner of my eye, and as I was wearing a full face auto dark helmet can only assume the flash entered from a reflection from the garage door I was welding near.
I've had a similar problem with bright sun shine streaming in and messing up the auto dark feature when trying to weld outdoors.
Are members aware of anything which might help either situation, what are examples of how to stop getting flashed from the back of the helmet when working in industry please? I'm considering getting a hat and wearing it backwards, although I'm not aware of anyone who does this, just something to try and keep the light out.
