I recently acquired this and got it delivered on Saturday.
Getting it down on the ground on a 1/2 Ton rated tailgate was pretty hairy !! (it weighs 1/2" ton)
Not sure where it has lived since it was built in 1969 (date from the manufacturer which are still going)
It certainly seems that it hasn't had a hard life at all and quite miraculously it hasn’t got any damage to the table
It's 3mt and the square table was an additional option over the round it was normally supplied with.
Another optional extra was additional geared head which means you can drill as slow as 60rpm
Coming in at just under 6 1/2" tall this is a big drill by most standards.
One thing I am seriously considering is fitting a motor to lower and raise the radial arm
I have been in touch with Ralph in Germany. Who has done this amongst other mega mods
His YouTube clip of these mods is at
He used a 1/2 Hp or 37KW worm geared motor for this.. I wonder if anyone has anything suitable lying around ?? I have spotted a 1/4 HP on Fleabay locally but wonder if this would be up to the job ??
Pictures and a brochure I found online
