Google has updated the home screen when they released the new version. Now the option to mirror the phone is gone.....its fine for apps like youtube that have cast icons but i want to cast the screen of what's on my phone.(my answer to your original question is no)
but...
How do you mean about "no longer cast"? I think it's like a firestick, in that it plugs into your TV's HDMI port, and receives magitelevision over the internet.
What's not working? Is there a screen where you can check its connection to the internet?
The strange thing is i cant find one person who has posted about it yet....i suppose i am trying to use google to find a problem with google...lolAh - in that case, your thread title makes perfect sense
My lack of knowledge of things-google means I'll need to bow out. Sorry, and best of luck!

Nope..Has your phone not got a cast option in the settings?
Sorted you are a star. I thought i had checked everywhere out...lolFrom your google home app home screen (the one pictured above) click the icon in the bottom right, the one that looks like a little circle with a sillhouette in it.
Scroll down to "additional" and mirror device is now there.
They are always changing things for the "better". Sadly their online help is always out of date because of this.
Almost as bad as bloody apple these days.
