seemingly the rule of thumb is 2hp eng per Kw generated.

According something i've just read - there are quite a few homemade 1.4ltr - 1.9ltr 4 cyl based genys up n down the states... and they run whole house for days when gridpower is out.

Ive even seen pics of a guy who'd used the v8 out of his olds... I can think of better uses for that though than running a gen.

100HP would be 60KVA.

My 8KVA house backup genny has a 26HP engine. The same engine is geared differently for the 10KVA model.

Even running on natural gas, it works fine. 10KW is only 13.4HP. I have seen 10KVA generators with 16-20HP engines.

your house genny is only 8kva that was 22.5 ,Almost 3 times the size at any decant duty i wouldnt have been far out
