Got SWMBO to run me to the pub just now. In the space of the 5 minute drive she was arguing about something and I couldn't get out of the car quick enough. By then I really wanted a few beers. She drives off. Sign on the pub door it's shut as they have Covid. The 20 minute walk home, sober, was really not the same.
Came in to find her soaking her feet in a washing up bowl dressed in a onesie.
I know what you're all thinking, lucky bloke etc.
Can't help thinking of the contrast here @selectedgrub ...

We have two pubs dead opposite each other and ones a bit better than the other (barmaids for a start and the beer)
They forgot to put a sign up recently saying opening later and we had to begrudgingly have a beer with the happiest landlord in town

As to arguments with swmbo. I've found it's simply a case of remembering something I may/may not, have said/not said/done/thought in the last 48yrs or or planned to do/think/say now or in the future.

Tbh the 20 minute walk there isn't a major chore and I'm definitely ready for a pint when I get there. Half road, half footpath if it's light or the road if not and a bit longer. I should walk it more really.
