anyone replaced kitchen cupboard doors only- where from

thinking our kitchen cabinet doors could do with replacing , had a quick google and most places want to send a greasy salesman round to sign me up

wondered if anyone has used anywhere thats straight up , dont need credit or salesman to attend

Any of the Trade outlets will happily sell you doors and bits without the visit by a 'designer' . Magnet, Howdens, TKC etc.

As long as they are standard height. 716mm high any of the big players will do you doors. Just write a list.

measure your doors and match them on the likes of ebay

trying to match door for door is hard but you can do it rather well that way

you have to decide on the style that you want to use however the most easiest door is the pine door as you can make them to the size you want yourself

Standard is 720 which takes a 715/6/7 doir

IKEA and wickes are talker making it a bit more difficult if you want panels

Yes - unless you have a stand alone oven and leave the side opening door open after using it to let the heat into the room as my ex used to do . . . the heat carried on shrinking the shrunk on vinyl . . .

the rest of them have withstood ten years of use, including the kitchen being moved into another room.

Generally avoid vinyl wrap … better than they used to be but can still delaminate

I just replaced a tiny kitchen worth of doors. Lots of different heights and widths.

I went for very basic doors (flat and white) and their size availability was extensive.

I went to Howdens. They are a trade outlet, so they had to set-up an "account" for me.

The first order I made was for an under sink base unit, I think about 1m wide and included a drawer pack, two drawer fronts and two lower doors that were 5??mm high instead of the 720mm. It came to about £150


The second order was for doors only, about eight of them, in various sizes (widths 300, 400, 500 and 600mm) and heights mainly 720 but one 1220. By the way, the 560(?) High doors were more expensive than the 720mm! Those came to around £160

When I placed the first order the guy gave me around 38% discount. When I asked for a quote on the second order the price I was given by the young lady was without discount. I emailed her back and noted the lack of discount - she came back with 50%!!

If you go into Howdens you can pick up a catalogue with all there door styles (I only wanted the most basic). It shows styles and their colours. I found it easier to go online to then find the door sizes that they have available.

As with many things, it's the little things that can add up the cost. An iron on strip (if I wanted to cut a door down) was about £5, yet the door itself about £11.

The cabinet was decent quality and came with all the dowels and screws for fixing. The pieces were also marked for where to screw hinges.

So, the acid test, would I buy from them again - yes, definitely.
