Anyone reccomend a good drill sharpening device

Honestly if your eyes are good enough to pick up the centre punch marking they are good enough to sharpen drills
Nothing needed other than ten minutes instruction and a big box of blunt drills
Like Richard says you get pretty darn good after a hundred
I admit to myself now I can't really see what I am doing with the small ones there days even with glasses but with the right techniques they will still come out ok

Thats the way to do it, as Mr Punch always says.
I used an ancient one, years ago, and the results used to be excellent. Holes the size you wanted and no bigger.
I'll buy one when the Lotto comes in.

The difference drilling with an approximation ground by eye, and one ground on a proper industrial drill grinder is chalk and cheese. OK some may get lucky and get everything spot on occasionally, but not with regularity even if you do it every day.

Then when you want to alter included angles etc for differing materials best of luck free hand

Best drill point is a 'four facet' one ground in a T&C grinder like my Clarkson - the effective web thickness is very small and the pressure required drilling much less thus saving your drill press / mill or whatever a bit of strain.
