The existing plate has bars approx 1/2” wide with 1/2 slots approx 250 deep , to be fair , it’s a cheap stove in the real world , a shame as the rest of the build is good , just the casting quality hasn’t stood the rest of time , even for a multi fuel
I was going to suggest something like this.
Three simple bends in rebar, weld on some supports, adjust legs to fit existing design.
Apparently though, you don't need a grate so I must be wrong because Google.
That would make a great letter or toast rack..

I just want to thank everyone for their input and didnt want to just let this post die and for people to think I have ghosted them ( modern lingo apparently) . I am drawing up the design needed and having Brad laser one for me , so fingers crossed .
