I was thinking it was part of a furrowing machine, the thing towed behind a tractor that makes the grooves for the seeds, pointy bit dragged through the soil to make the groove! (See, I do know a bit about farming after all )
AND I know cows have 5 teets!

Pologies Sparks - I've just been and measured the pointy end of a combine thingy and the tip is actually only about 3" so it could have been one o them...but it aint
