Re the Quorn. I was in the cave yesterday and a pal arrived to see how my trip went. He asked what all the bits were for and I explained.

Him: "Ah, I see. When did you last sharpen a drill bit?"
Me: "Not for a while"
Him: "Then why do you need a separate machine for doing them?"
Me: "I don't really, but it'll be nice to have".
Him: "Where are you going to keep it? You're very short of working space as it is" [looking at the approx 4 x sq feet of bench-top currently available. ]
Me: "Well, my plan is to move that to there >, move that a bit >, and it ought to sit here"
Him: "But you're having to move stuff around to get to the stuff you have crammed in those cupboards as it is....."
Me: "Aye, that's true"
Him: "Looks like it'll be heavy when it's done"
Me: "Possibly"
Him: "Mhhhhhh"

So, I've had an epiphany, a bit of a Damascene moment if you will [in a decidedly non-religious way ].

Given that I should be de-cluttering instead of acquiring more 'stuff', I'm going to sell the Quorn 'as is'. I'm going to take decent pics of all the bits over the coming week [if the weather behaves] and list it 'For Sale', probably on Home-Workshop.

I'm going away again in a couple of weeks, so it might not happen until after that. I have other mundane 'life' things to do as well, and this build is taking up altogether too much of my time.

I'm always saying that, usually includes "And I'll sell that so that can fit there, but it needs fixing before I can sell it, and I need to buy this to fix it properly". Somehow buying more toys always seems to come before shifting the old ones.

Well, it has been nearly been over two years, but you've already got one - two would be greedy....... As said, I'm only moving this on because of space restrictions and my 'buying' habit addiction [fixed before anyone else does it ].

I could well be a Founder Member, I've currently got 6 angry grinders . But that's largely down to laziness for changing fittings e.g cutting/grindings discs/wire wheels etc in the middle of a job.

Aye, I've known him for c. 60 years but he's non-technically minded so knows nothing about machinery/welders/plasma cutters etc., although his Dad was a boatyard blacksmith [he was glad when I welded bits for him & gave him a go though ].

Trouble is, he's right......
