Nothing worth seeing. Currently stripping the old varnish off the frame before cleaning the grooves out ready to measure.
This is one of the draw leaves

But I'm using 18mm ply this time as it felt/sounded cheap, so I'll rebate both sides of the ply

I got the ply center cut on b&q's track saw so they are square and straight. Should help me get the center accurate.

Many many years ago I had a very similar table, it had sat outside in a salvage yard, oak was good but veneered top ruined. After several more years sitting under the carport at home I decided to complete the project

Chopped it all up with a chainsaw and had an awesome bonfire

Don't count on it. IF you are lucky, yes, that might be square but in my experience they are always off, not by much but enough to be a real aggravation.

I've not checked it yet, but I know it's not guaranteed square.
It is however, better than I'd have done with my jig saw!!

Agree on the ply quality, but the hardwood ply I got from b&q is still far better, and twice as thick, as what it had originally.
It's not super high quality fine furniture. If I was making a table from scratch, I wouldn't be using ply at all!

The lad who won the Prince Charles Trust youth trophy for outstanding work made his tipping table top out of HDF and book matched veneers . Absolutely fantastic too as he put in three stress marks and modified slotted screw heads to make it look like they were handmade .

I was going to make an oak framed table, maybe with a honed slate top as i use a stone masons for work. The price of oak these days put me off!

Of course I did, wouldn't put a pic of someone else's now as there would be no point.

I attended a one-day intro to veneering in Boroughbridge many years ago, when I had grand plans to reveneer the woodwork on my first TVR.
The instructor made it look a piece of cake.
Ended up buying 'all the gear' and fannying about with some expensive walnut veneer, but never got anywhere, eventually sold all the bits (veneer hammer etc.) on eBay.
Didn't help that the then-wife moaned her t!ts off about the smell of the animal glue bubbling away on the gas hob
