Anyone have experience of customs declarations for sending an item from uk to germany for warranty repair

I have a dead Frtizbox unit which the manufacturer agree is under warranty and they have given me an RMA
The UK gov website says I can send something for an FOC warranty repair/replacement but I cannot see what paperwork I need to generate
the RMA from the fritz people says I need to attach the corresponding customs documents (customs declaration of contents / commercial or pro forma invoice) so that they are accessible for customs

Does anyone know what forms I need to fill in and ideally where to find them please

I used to send goods to Eire and there's a raft of things you need to do for that (commodity code, weight, description and recipient vat number and address, a despatch note & invoice with all the info correctly itemised - then upload the information & pdf's of your paperwork to get the freight forwarder to have water they need to process through customs - & that's just from memory).

You'd think there would be a process for Warranty Returns. Brexit has certainly made the process a lot more fussy & awkward.

Dumb question perhaps, but have you tried their UK distributor (https://www.euroroutensl.co.uk/), or reseller (https://www.zen.co.uk/smallerbusiness/superfast-fibre-and-broadband-packages/routers/), to see if they can process the return for you instead?

No, because the supplier has issued an RMA which has to be attached to the outside and also advised about the necessity for customs declaration forms to be displayed on the outside of the box

Not dumb thank you, I wasn't aware that they existed. Zen are my isp so I have sent them a query but both their websites link back to the AVM one for product info so I am not holding my breath

That's what I thought but I was unable to complete a transaction for shipping without EORI.

Took a deep breath and dived in expecting it to be a real chore but it literally took seconds to get a valid number for the customs declaration.

Regarding the paperwork on the outside of the consignment, have lots of copies because anyone who touches it is likely to take one even if they don't need it. You don't want to run out of them because it will stop it dead in its tracks. It's better to have too many than not enough.

Well I did spend 4 nights in a lovely villa by lake como. Airbnb bargain off season. Hired a boat for a day. LLovely driving holiday across Europe. 30 miles is my limit at the moment though

If it goes UPS they will claim it has none, regardless of how many A4 size documents are clearly attached in a large A5 transparent pouch!

I didn't know what I was supposed to do. Was surprised by the sheer number of identical forms that a single package generated. Seven in total and five of them the same customs declaration. I gaffa taped one of those ziplock freezer bags to the side of the box and filled it with paperwork!
