What happened?Anyone have a Passat B6 and need/want an android radio?
Well if no one has a Passat suitable in the next few days it is yours for the cost of posting. No but have been looking for a new stereo system for the garage.
To the Passat?What happened?
To the Passat?
I scraped a 300mm high bollard at about 5mph in a car park and it knocked the whole car out of alignment, front and rear, so much so that the rear tyres looked like this after a few weeks.

Couldn't believe it did so much damage as nothing was visible apart from the dent in the door, couldn't be bothered trying to get it fixed so gave it to the scrap man.
You wouldn't think so but I have my suspicions it had earlier problems. Ever since I got it there had been spells where the steering would start shaking no matter the speed. Not violent but just like wheel balance wrong. Next day or even after a sit of a few hours it would be fine, then again it would happen, weeks or even a month later, was a strange one.Bloody hell! You wouldn't think that something like that would write off such a large car.

Nah, wanted rid of it quick.
It was well out, rear wheels were sitting like this /\ and that was after I had tried to adjust , the nearside one was also a mile out on the tracking. Springs etc were fine, the car was twisted in some way and I had had enough. It was seriously dangerous to drive, bad enough on a dry road but hit a puddle and it would violently vear and likewise if you had to skiff the dirt at the side of a narrow country road.
Aye likely they would but not the way it drove. I was never so glad to get the van as it was getting worse every day.the kids would love the “stance” of the wheels like that
The only visible damage was to the door, the sill underneath was untouched. It was a really strange one as basically the car just got pushed across the road slightly as I hit the bollard whilst moving out of the parking spot but it seemed like it twisted the whole car in some way.Did it open the body up like a tin opener?

Aye, it had been an unlucky car for me, had needed 3 front wheel bearings and a gearbox replacement in the short space of time I had had it, under 2 years. The front wheel bearings kind of hinted at some sort of issue as I only do about 5,000 miles per year and it is not as if they had been unbranded Chinese ones, I think they were skf.Almost like it was haunted! You're well rid, by the sounds of things it was gradually working its way up to killing you.
More likely front bushes.Nah, wanted rid of it quick.

Center bushes go like this. You wouldn't think so but I have my suspicions it had earlier problems.
