I've had some of my Snap-on tools in daily use for 25 years or more, honestly can't recall last time I had to return anything.
I'm a big Milwaukee fan and own quite a few but they are in for a bit of a rough time with their redesigned M18 HI Torque impact guns, they are failing left/ right and centre.
My old Snap-on 18v 1/2 inch and 14v 3/4 inch are still in use at 20 years old, can't say fairer than that.
I saw that about the new M18 on the torque test channel. My lads M12 stubby has been back for repair twice now, one of his M18 grinders has been back too. To be fair they did collect them and repair within a week.
Snap On will always have haters purely due to the cost, I'm not on the spanners for a job but I have quite a bit of Snap On stuff and most of it is just nice to use. Maybe it's a placebo effect, if it is then so be it. I can see many good reasons for not having it, if you have workers who think smacking ratchet/spanners/screwdrivers etc with a hammer is proper use then you really don't want to be spending £100+ on Snap On ratchet. The one thing I really like is the amount bits I bought years a go which you can still buy today but cost twice as much as they did when I bought them.
I have some 14.4v Snap On stuff and I really love the directional rocker switch on the 3/8 impact gun. There is nothing better if you want to work a nut/bolt in and out a few time
