As an apprentice it was beaten into me to be aware of where the leads were at all times , the old boy I worked with insisted we worked with all leads to our left hand side. He would kick off if he saw leads criss crossing on the floor, its stuck in my head and I cant recall ever cutting or damaging a lead. Just me rambling, I am old

Another vote for HO7.
I use 2.5mm for 16A and 6mm for 32A leads.
These folk have fair prices.

I like decent connectors for the ends. I normally use PCE connectors. Always go together nicely and have run supplies across damp fields for events with no issues.
