Anyone fitted a P-bath panel

Been given this to do, no point on what you should have done, as I didn't do any of it, never fitted a bath panel, never mind a P type.
Floor tiles go further in than the lip. Guess I need to make a couple of simple frames left and recessed right to butt against?

Anyone done this before with any tips?
Need to find a panel in light oak finish, not sure dims yet but any tips on suppliers?

not fitted one of those before, but I've seen under a few baths (some weird shape ones)

like you sat, frame around it then fix panel to it

personally.. for the but of wood along the floor, I'd be very tempted to go

tiles > silicone > damp proof > wood


not a lot of extra work, and should be a lot better in the long run

I seem to always end up making my own panel...marine ply and good paint holds up well I find.

For framing I usually use CLS as it's cheap...I prefer to support the edge of the bath with the CLS and make a nice sturdy frame (people tend to sit on and in baths) ... you'll want to check the panel to see how it fits. Tiling under is the way I'd do it too.

My experience of bought panels is they're a bit flimsy....hence the make my own philosophy.

Consider how you will pry the panel off (without damage) once popped into place. That might mean a notch or capped hole in an unobtrusive place into which you can push a hooked item.

Unless the panel is a composite plastic material, seal all edges with polyurethane varnish.

That is for 3mm thick plastic panels. Those are not normally available in a 'light oak finish'. For a solid, sheet-type panel, the clips would not be used.
