Anyone fancy an internal (coarse) spline job

A friend of mine is rebuilding a Cooper 500, and he needs a female spline to mate to the Cooper rack. Rough guess 1/2 inch dia, 8 tooth spline, around an inch deep. I guess it needs an indexing fixture and some kind of broaching machine? No idea if it would have been split with clamp bolt facility - I suspect so.
Anyone fancy taking the job on? Let me know, with an estimate of price.

i seen a guy make a splined insert for a norton kickstart like this

Hmm, not sure how I'd get the divisions right, or lock the spindle. Ok, use the pinion, set into the spindle, with a suitable locking mechanism. Perhaps a job for the ml7 rather than the Triumph. Might have a shot at it.

I di have a suitable machine, a slotter with direct indexing plates specifically for cutting splines.

Back in my hobby school boy days I put a change wheel and plunger on the lathe spindle for indexing
Also on the hobbymat I set change wheels to 1:1 and turned leadscrew hand wheel and did indexing that way , just isolate electric first!

Thanks to all for input into this - i suggested the lathe method, he has a Harrison and tried the gear and neutral method - he found the correct teeth, set to with a cutter and apron feed. For a first stab at it it turned out well, not good enough to use (the worpiece wasn't big enough to slit and machine in a clamping screw hole anyway), the tool might have been flexing a bit.
Next attempt should be right.
