Years of being nagged? How did you manage that???
My ex boss used to scrap tons of steel as we had no spaceMore likely the time wasted hunting through scrap for a bit more suitable costs the company more money than simply using new stock - which will have been priced for the job anyway.
Add on the costs for someone to clear, sort, and stack scrap for reuse, combined with paying for the space to store it, compared to clear and into skip. Certainly the case where I've worked.
One man bands who don't necessarily cost every working hour (but should) might do otherwise.
You allow SHMBO into the cave unaccompanied?
I actually feel ill when I try to get rid of my stuff. It was incredibly simple to be honest.
Look at everything and be sensible and dispassionate about whether you'll ever use it or even need it. If not, get rid, and make storage areas for what you keep. There seems to be an underlying ethos on this forum for acquiring stuff you don't need and will probably never use, this thread being indicative of that, as well as having a workshop that's crammed full of useless junk to the point of being dangerous, and if that works for folk, crack on!
However, and that's why I replied to the op, it doesn't work for me, hence why I have a tidy workshop that really is a joy to be in since I sorted it. It also helps me in the respect of being away in the wagon all week, because if OH rings me and wants something out of there I can tell her exactly where it is without worrying about her tripping up over some random junk or having to wade through the same while looking for what she needs.
You are over 160 miles from me! If you want it, you can have it, my wife will be very happy it's gone
I have an engine hoist, but yes bring a pallet truck to get it up the driveI've send a van to Grimsby every week - I could jump in with the driver, maybe bring a pallet truck and engine hoist too
I'll pm you :-)
