A friend of mine has a place where the electricity supply can go off anytime, and does on a regular basis-not uk but a remote village abroad. So he bought a Honda suitcase 'quiet' generator. It is connected to the mains supply in such a way whereby when the power supply fails there is a switch that he simply manually operates to switch to generator supply.
I am curious as to whether anyone who is a very low user of electricity has considered using a generator, and getting rid of their energy supplier for the electricity. Obviously the high cost of petrol is quite prohibitive, diesel gennies are noisey if you have neighbours.
The recent ongoing price hike is quite absurd. We are told that the prices will eventually come down to what they were, but will they, and how long will we be shafted for? Chips never come back down when the price of spuds does.
