I have ended up with an old steel Pratt 4 jaw chuck, will get me started and I can see how good it is.Why put a cheap chuck on a lathe capable of far far greater accuracy.
My electrical engineer son has given me a shopping list for a 16A socket install, so no fun until I get my power supply inWhat have you turned so far, Tom? And don't deny that you've been out 'playing'....
My 2.2KW VFD and 2HP motor has been running happily from a 13A socket for a while nowMy electrical engineer son has given me a shopping list for a 16A socket install, so no fun until I get my power supply in
For that lathe you want 20mm all day long.Fitted the 3 jaw and the chuck guard, given the lathe a visual inspection and all looks good.

The lathe has come with a 4 way tool post, ideally I would like a quick change, any advice on what one to look out for?
Also lathe has come with no tooling, so I will need to buy a few tools to get me started, best going for 16mm or 20mm? I was thinking of just ordering something like a banggood 7 piece set of carbide insert tools to get started, or better just picking up some better quality used ones?
Any advice on tooling appreciated.
Thanks
I think you'll get numerous suggestions for QC style, mines fitted with the (T1) Dickson and I have no complaints - what might be worth considering is how expensive the tool holders are since you'll need more than you think of those. The lathe has come with a 4 way tool post, ideally I would like a quick change, any advice on what one to look out for?
20mm ones will fit in the T1 though most of mine are 16mmAlso lathe has come with no tooling, so I will need to buy a few tools to get me started, best going for 16mm or 20mm?
I bought a set of these and are fine to get started - about £30 including some inserts, though the inserts aren't the best.I was thinking of just ordering something like a banggood 7 piece set of carbide insert tools to get started
