So you have actually reset the mid position,
So how do you go on if fitting lowering springs?
is there a front axle sensor?

Yes there is a front axle sensor. On the computer you calibrate for an empty but settled car. This stores the sensor voltages as the basic position. So loading, acceleration and braking, which affect the suspension geometry bring about a voltage change and the lamps constantly adjust to try and maintain the same beam height as that of the basic position.
Then they can be adjusted in the normal way to set the aim in a beam tester.
