does anybody know what this welder is. its a great welder with heavy duty leads, earth clamp and stick holder.

It looks exactly the same as an old buzz box that I bought from Sureweld over 30 years ago, its still going strong, mine is yellow, and is made by CEA, an Italian company, have a look on the back for a logo.

30+ years ago I purchased a BOC Ltd unit exactly like that, a copper wound tranformer 140 amp AC output, that's probably an Ali wound transformer with about same output.

theres no markings on it unfortunatly. all i know is its a great welder. lol

If you find out let me know, I've got one buried in my lock-up somewhere - in similar condition. Last time I used it on site, I had to rescue it out of the skip! The builder threw it out as rubbish. I fitted a cooling fan and could run 4mm's all day. I really must clear that lock up out one day..........W/A

Yep, mine looks the same and it's a BOC.

Trouble with mine is it would overheat and cut out, so had to run a desk fan behind it!

It was a while ago now but from memory it was a slim profile electrical panel type cooling fan, at the time about £12.00 from RS. There was room inside the casing behind the TX - just wired it in with the on/off switch. W/A

its a Cebora Bi Welder

Cebora Bi Welder was dual volt was it not? that's straight 220v. I reckon it's one supplied re-badged from the original Weldspares.

This type is made by CEA and solded with many, many names. Also Filarc (brand of ESAB) solded this transformer under the name of MMA-150 and Philips solded this transformer under type PZ-2709. I have documentation of this transformer but only in dutch(sorry).

Should really be called the return lead, This will explain it, and save me typing.
