Any use for disoposable cylinders?

Having had a minor bash at a bit of tig (again) and finding the bottle empty (that'll be another thread if I'm brave enough and can suffer the shame of the photos) this afternoon and just before I was about to chuck the cannister has anyone found a use for these?
Does anyone know if the internal bore is consistent? If so maybe a power cylinder for a hot air engine, or if my new neighbour keeps playing his music at full volume I could shove it up his............ Oops, phones ringing, must go

I've heard of people using them for boilers on model steam engines.

Now that's a good idea, as long as the cylinder is thick enough to be threaded for the fittings.
I have the castings for a single cylinder horizontal Stuart engine which I haven't quite got around to making yet (bought them on my honeymoon 14 years ago )

I've got one in my "I'll keep that 'cos I might find a use for it one day" cabinet. Was going to throw it as I'm having a clear out and now HasBean has put me in a dilemma! 'cos if I cart it down the tip today someone will come up with a brilliant idea what to do with it.

A mate used one for a silencer on a ride on lawn mower, and on a little 50cc motorbike :lol:

It should be nice, easy to weld steel. So far (I've yet to section one to see how thick they are) I've thought of a stand for a grinder (the column, at least) while the end peices could be used for height adjustable stands (similar to those used for keyboards).

A pump up air reservoir (for an airbrush, similar relatively low consumption device etc.) might be another possibility if they could be ganged together.

Ooh, there's an idea, a couple of cylinders and a freezer compressor maybe?

i used them when making the leaves and on the main post, where i welded them all together ,(could not find any 80mm pipe)

great idea flash very nice railings , i made a wind chime from one i thought it was rather nice until my dad got sick of the sound and disposed of it ,the old duffer is meant to deaf as a post too .

thanks tattie bogle , the acrorn came from a old astate fence we took down . to nice to weigh it in i think it was made from cast steel, seem to stick to the cylinders
i would hate it to break off on to your foot.
