Any Tech2 users? Resetting my transmission oil life indictator

I changed the auto transmission oil and filter recently on my 1999 Isuzu Trooper. This required removing both oil pans.

Yesterday I finally got my new Chinese Clone Tech2 scanner to work and had a go at resetting the transmission oil life indicator. There's a menu item for the 4L30E transmission in the Tech2, and in there is shows "AT Oil life: 100%" and there's also an option to "Reset AT Oil Life". The process to reset the oil life completed but the life is still showing as 100%. Tried restarting everything several times.... no change.

Any ideas? The only idea I have is that 100% means there's 100% life left and somehow the car detected that the oil was changed? Far fetched idea I think.

What search term did you use? Still begs the question of how it got to 100%. The oil I took out was not fresh... it was bad.

I checked the value first, was 100%, then tried to reset it. Very wierd. Will monitor to see if it starts going down.

Was there any message to say the oil needed changed?

It's quite likely oil life monitoring isn't enabled, so any values will simply sit at default values to avoid any warnings being shown.

This sounds like the most likely explanation. I can't find any option in the Tech2 menus to enable oil monitoring so guessing it's not working or not available. Still a bit strange as the owners hand book says the feature is there and those handbooks are normally very accurate.
