Did you rewind the bobbin yourself? Try loading a new bobbin with thread, as sometimes if the filling tension is too loose on the bobbin (or loaded all squint) the bobbin thread will jam and tangle in the bobbin Itself.
Is the thread jamming IN the bobbin case, or winding itself around the bobbin holder. If the latter, check to see if an errant thread is caught in the bobbin mechanism.
Are you completing any stitches before jamming, if so, what do they look like.

Typically it's a tension issue. Top tensioner does the underside or the bobbin is in correctly installed.
You might adjust the top and starts breaking thread, then you need to loosen the bobbin and probably the top. It's something that your learn the more you play, get some frabic and keep blasting seams you'll soon learn.
My machine comes out pretty rarely so I will give some oil a run it for maybe 5mins that's tends to work the oil in and free it all up.
And a thanks to my grandmother who taught me to sew and knit when I was about 10.

You need to make sure all of that excess thread is removed. That includes getting in behind the bobbin holder and checking for random stuck threads. Are you holding both threads under slight tension for the first few stitches?
I can’t quite see, but is the needle threaded the right way round, it also looks like it’s at an angle. It might just be the image, but depending on the machine, the needle eye should be ‘looking’ at the machine, or in some models ‘looking’ at you.
Always go for the basic stuff before touching the tension or timing, as a problem with the basics, and you’ll be adjusting tensions until your head explodes.

either tension on the bobbin its self tension on the thread feed, or timings slightly out it can happen easily enough , a thick seam can sometimes be enough to knock it out.

Was the presser foot completely down when she was sewing and is the machine threaded up through all the thread guides ?

The bobbin holder looks similar to a Brother embroidery machine which my wife has, occasionally she fits a new bobbin which just doesn’t want to work correctly, which isn‘t worth the hassle, just replace it, does your machine come with a counterweight for setting the tension on the bobbin holder (the little screw on the side of it)
Also take all of the covers off and clean out all of the broken threads from behind the mechanism, my wife’s machine has lots of broken threads wound around the mechanism when I service it, you can’t see them unless the covers are removed.

Where are you based? I use a really good sewing machine engineer in the north west. I have the utmost respect for anyone who can repair/service a sewing machine having seen just how many working parts can be made to work in symphony in such a small contraption…. And I work with helicopters!
