yeah i far prefer them for thin stuff than normal twist drills!I watched a video on these - I like his tests.
I bought the Dewalt from Amazon - works very well but not had it that long.
I will say for drilling thin steel they are awesome - don't snatch and grab like a twist drill.

Once you're through the gold coating their drills are no better than any other hss-coI've worn out a few step drills from different brands but never worn out the HMT. They also have that really useful hex shank on them, saves you wearing out drill chucks.
