I’m changing a rad and had to re-do a bit of the pipe work. There’s some water in there I can’t seem to get rid of to solder - it’s drained down overnight and I’ve had a wet vac on it for an hour.

Will the ‘bread trick’ do my central heating any harm?

I wouldn't leave anything in there permanently if that's what you're asking. If you can't pick up a can of freezer, use a bung and pull it out after soldering (long bit of string etc.). if you're soldering a right angle that gets a bit hairy. You need some freezer spray.

OTOH you could always cut the tricky part off and use a straight connector to rejoin.

In theory the bread dissolves, I’d do it on cold water without a thought. I’d freeze it but it means gutting another room to get far enough away.

depends on where the water is and your fitting

ive had to use a smaller pipe often to syphon the water away from the fitting dosnt always work depends on where your soldering

reads as you have ackward fittings from another room into the room your in

Thanks. Actually I thought I had, but turns out I’d forgotten one (massive) rad.

just make a last joint in the pipe using a compression fitting
