Any Pipe Welders in?

Hi,

Not really done much pipe welding before, but just had a piece of 65mm NB mild steel that is welded , with in an 'L' shape with a flange both ends, on dimension is 1200mm overall the other side states F/B is that pipework terminology?

Face to back. From the face or raised face where the gasket goes to the back of the pipe where it turns the elbow. Unusual way of measuring. F/c is more common which is face to centre. So the b could stand for the weld butt either

Never ever come across F/B in nearly 30 years in the business . Pipe work is always measured either end to centre , centre to centre or end to end in the case of a straight.

apparently this is the right answer, according to lead pipe guy at Babcocks...
