Just signed up to amazon prime, of course really just for the free delivery, oh and the free streaming music,.... and I suppose, for the tree idiots.

Now I found it really hit and miss and didn't like 50% of the programs due to the childish, "oh look, I just drove into your car" crap.

Anyway, that's it done now, lest see what happens next.

I know 2 people with Amazon Prime. They say similar to you.
To much rubbish.
To long looking for good stuff.
Low brow adverts.

But is like the Sky or cable package we have, 90% rubbish. But on those type of media you can see what channels are rubbish and avoid them.

I think 98% of Tv shows are utter carp. The goods ones either end to soon or grow long in the tooth. worse they dumb down.

most stuff on all tv channels is utter rubbish now and way too many repeats, we've had sky from the off but have just cancelled the lot, there is nothing worth paying for and it must be happening a lot as they rang us back saying we could keep it until January free of charge to see if we would change our mind, not likely its still going

I tend to hammer the internet for what i want to watch theres plenty for free if you fancy them to watch just got to know the sites as ive found out years ago theres sites for films and sites for series to watch

certainly beats watching a load of repeats or stuff you dont want to watch

adding the firestick to it and theres plenty more to watch

Amazon prime is amazing, as far as I'm concerned

I have virgin cable with the 200mbit Internet connection, but I haven't even switched the tivo box on since I got my Amazon fire TV box to go with my prime subscription.

The content is semi rubbish, but the box gives access to netflix and iplayer/itv/others through an interface that doesn't suck, so we use that for all our TV viewing now (even "live" tv)

I don't think I could go back to using the tivo box anymore.


Oh, and free next day delivery is great too.

Btw i like how these Internet broadcasters can afford to show stuff that would never get shown on a normal TV channel because it's too special interest. eg there seems to be loads of different series about deep sea fishing etc - not just trawlermen and deadliest catch. the redbull channel is great too, if you're a bit of a petrol head etc etc.

Just tried it out on my PC to find it doesn't work very well with Chrome (its got jerky video and sound)so I cant cast it to my tv, works fine in other browsers, I think its deliberate to stop users using the chromecast to boost sales of their own stick.
