Impossible to prove against the seller and could actually of been a genuine sale from him.
You said it yourself, it started and it ran just fine when you went to pick it up.
You even took it out for a run before you realised the engine was seizing up.
It’s very possible the seller had no clue about the running condition of this bike as it may of been running ok for the short while he had it after the rebuild and it’s just Sod’s law you buy it and take it out to find the problems coming to light.
And on the other hand He may of known it was a ticking time bomb and wanted to shift it quickly
Can’t be proved either way. It’s crap when you throw money at something that goes pop and like you say worse when it threatens your safety.
Don’t dwell too much on what could of happened because it didn’t happen. You didn’t come off and your ok that’s the main thing.
You’ve lost your money and I can’t see it coming back unfortunately. If it makes you feel better it’s happened to me before.
