I live in a small village mate. In not about to be inundated with teens on bikes following my lead.

It's a huge sports field that's used maybe 8 times a year for cricket.

Speed of the bikes is between 4 and 12mph with 12 t" and 16" wheels. My kids could ride push bikes around there all day.

Don't forget the noise . One mans idea of a concerto is another mans idea of hell. There is not a lot more annoying than the sound of a m/c droning in the background.

You spent all those flying hours learning regulations that are specific to UAVs and were only enacted in 2021? Impressive.

I wasn't generalising. I was quite specific.
Problem for me is all electric bikes/scooters are now jammed into the same bracket. Bloody 2t mini Motos did a lot of harm too.
Not much different to when I was a lad. If you wanted to ride motorbikes off road the only option for a lot of people was illegal.

The council on our local park banned radio controlled models.
At the same time opened a bloody noisy dog walk so I explained to them if they closed the dog walk I would stop tuning my models over there.
They soon shut up.

no body considers every mobile phone a "privacy issue" or if i'm walking around with my camera with my 150-600mm lens on it, but as soon as you start taking photos from a different point of view, it's automatically assumed you're a pervert and need monitoring.

Last summer a drone flew over our garden a few times while we were out in the sun and one day I decided to follow it when it was going back to base (I assume) I followed it for about half a mile before I lost it crossing the main road onto an estate and I still wonder how far away the operator was and what they were doing which was illegal as they were within 50 metres horizontally of the public most of the time.

You know nothing about me and mine but feel it's acceptable to make judgements on what's best for them.

They're not lacking for exercise or for time riding push bikes. If I want to get the younger two up to the trials park I need to get them time on the bikes with the nanny aids turned down/off and doing that in a small garden surrounded by fences and filled with toys isn't a bright idea is it.

Keeping your opinions to yourself will do you more good that offering unsolicited parenting advice...

I think that to remain legal it must remain within line of sight. It's too much to expect the toe rags to keep to the rules.

Probably, but not definitely. LOS & 50m is for A1 and A3 >250g

If you hold an A2 Certificate of Competency (A2 CofC) you will be able to fly in the A2 or A1 subcategory if your aircraft meets the specification requirements. The A2 subcategory allows you to fly a C2 aircraft down to a distance of 30m horizontally from uninvolved people or up to 5m in ‘low-speed mode’ or 50m horizontally from uninvolved people for A2 Transitional Aircraft.

That’s just the open catagory. Surveying, filming, research, fire and rescue all have different rules.

Well many of those come from Number 10...the rest can't see why they should if they don't.

most of us had field bikes as there was a load of land not being used and just rough grass over hills and a beck and a nice oval grass track for racing or as fast as you could go on a bantam or a james no one stopped us

from the age of 8...put me in a HM hotel by the age of 15 as i was totally mesmerized by motorbikes, by 17 i had grew up and towed the line to become a law abiding youth
