iv been trying to get a parcel colected from essex and deliverd to chester sinse befor christmas
thay (UPS) say thay have been to colect it and theres no one in iv checked and thay have been in all day its starting to drive me mad

Is the address easy to find? Main road? Having worked as a courier, you not only get some oddball addresses, but the new developments in some areas "borrow" the postcode from a completely different part of town.

Bourne in Lincolnshire is a prime example.

I have used Parcelhero to deliver stuff to Germany. Didnt have any problems, will use them again if i need more stuff delivered.

thay managed to find it the first time but the lable that was printed out by the sender was to small and the delivery guy didnt want to wait for them to reprint it
its being colected from a company based on a farm

A lot of the time the problem is with the sender, badly packaged and labelled. I once had a motorcycle engine delivered just wrapped in a few layers of bubble wrap, no wonder the gear selector shaft was bent. The sender blamed the courier. You have to package items as if a D9 was going to run over it, then some.

Hi, When I've been on deliveries I used to hate going to farms, no one seem to know where they were. If I asked anyone they either didn't know or gave off the wall directions like "go down past Freds place, turn left, then over the bridge, turn right, past the barn and it's on the right" No specifics and who'se Fred? Oh, forget it.

I've used myhermes in the past and found them ok, I appreciate other people may have had different experiences.

They also have a drop off service, where you can drop the parcel off at a local shop to be collected, handy for me as it's just a short walk away from my house.

if you are getting something collected u are always reliant on the person it is being collected from,, cant always blame the couriers although must do suck!

I use Hermes too. There's a drop shop 300 yards from me. I've had a few problems but on the whole they're OK. A recent claim was sorted out in 2 days.

I recently used UPS to post a car rear quarter panel. After collecting it they lost it (even though it was about a 1m square package). Then they denied collecting it, to the point that they said UPS don't collect from my address. The online tracking showed it was collected and at the local depot! It took several phone calls before they found it and sent it on it's way. I would not recommend them anymore, it cost the best part of £50 to ship and was supposed to be a 24hour service!

Maybe ask the person who it's being collected from if they have anybfirms that deliver regularly. We're on first name terms with the Stan the Hermes man and a few others are great but parcelforce unfailing leave parcels at the wrong address. If someone's used to going to an address, chances are they will know where find the owners especially on somewhere bigger like a farm.

DPD in my experience have the BEST service in terms of tracking, you get a text if the driver so much as scratches his backside. You can follow a link sent to you and watch where the van is. No excuse to miss a delivery.

Their deliveries are reliable and drivers very polite.
