It is indeed a 350 small block Chevy, 5.7 litres of American iron. I built it when I lived in the Philippines first time round, some 20 years ago, but after two years fabricating almost every part I got stuck on the drive system.
I started with a brake booster assisted hand clutch, that I could not get to work consistently. Then I built a centrifugal clutch, that did not work consistently... then I got fed up working on a 1200lb bike that simply could never be ridden on the atrocious roads over there....and I stripped it down and built a car instead.
The Healey replica came along many years later, second time we lived over there, another of my projects that failed, because we got divorced and it was abandoned, along with the red hot rod, and everything else that was left over there....

All this and my brother is still unsure if I can have it!!!!
Nice, originally built by Jensen and looks to have suffered from understeer!
No doubt he’ll let me chop it up and once done claim it back!I reckon he's toying with you.
Where were you in the Philippines? I'm sure I've seen a Healey replica sitting abandoned in a yard on the roadside between Angeles and San Fernando Pampanga.
