Any locksmiths on here?

Have just bought a load of old engineers tools. One of the boxes is a oak Moore and Wright box, in very good condition. The front cover has a yale cut away lock, is there any chance of getting a key, or having one made ?. The only marks i can find on the lock is Yale England and someone has lightley scribed on the top of the lock 79. I have searched but with no luck.

Any proper Locksmith will sort you out without any trouble at all, Not your local cobler or DIY shop that does keycutting, a proper locksmith.

ISTR you and get parts for any age of Yale Lock, all you need is a new barrel and keys

I had a set of safe keys cut 'from the lock' by the Locksmith on Westexe in Tiverton.

Ian,

The Yale keyway is very popular so any decent locksmith will be able to help you. The number 79 is most likely the key profile number, there are only a set number of pin combinations possible otherwise you end up with pairs of pins at the same height etc which makes them too easy to pick.
