Hi
im building a beach buggy on a disco 3 shortened chassis rwd only and ive been perusing suitable power plants, it needs to be something out of the ordinary and someone suggested the supercharged jag V8 , ive never had anything to do with them but its sounds like a reasonable idea to me
so i started looking at them on ebay, big mistake because now i cant stop you seem to be able to get a cheapy from between £750 to £1500 but in this price range they all have some issues one way or another as you would expect
i just saw this one with a knockin bottom end
who knows these engines ? are they reliable, could i get away with just new big ends and mains ? are there better places to acquire one ? or are they to messy/unreliable and i should give them a wide berth ? ive watched a few yt vids on them and seem to have several hundred water hoses under the bonnet
im open to any ones opinion of them as a suitable motor to transplant , beach buggies only do a couple of thousand miles a year if that
